Note from Art-Pod Director, Jo Ann Gillerman

Art-Pod nonprofit was formed in late 2019 shortly before the Pandemic of 2020 was declared. Our original mission was to bring immersive art, science, culture and technology experiences and ART/STEM/STEAM workshops and education to a multi-generational and diverse public through innovative and experiential events nationally and internationally. In March 2020, the Pandemic created varying degrees of international isolation and lock-downs.  Public arts, along with many other sectors and education, were forced to halt or alter direction.  As an educator and long-time College Professor of Interdisciplinary Digital/Media Arts, I, and my students, were instantly forced into a new reality, one of virtual online learning affecting education, arts, events, work, location and life. With the current and ongoing pandemic, education, arts and technology are a changed and changing landscape – requiring knowledge, tools and new forms of communication. This new evolving arena fueled an immediate focus and continued commitment for Art-Pod to help in areas and communities where we can make positive impact.
